Free Choice

For my free choice I want to kill two birds with one stone and do some projects that I am making as commotions for people. I have 4 of them to do, and I really just think I'm gonna get as many as I can done by that deadline and then turn in the best one. They are all portraits of people, and then one is a tattoo design for a friend.

Word Project (Locate)

Over all my work was really about exploring new things with my art. I tried lots of different mediums for each piece. I also really tried to get out of my comfort zone and really be lose with my mark making. I also tried to do less literal ideas with all of my pieces.
I am kind of also stuck in the "animation" mood right now (because of the class) and I really played that up and made a lot of my pieces look animated.
I found a new love for watercolor through this project and also collage as well.
My first piece was all about meditation and finding your inner soul.

The second one is about locating yourself as a person.

The last one is about locating ideas.

Word Project

I was really inspired by all the info-graphs that came up when I searched my word on Pinterest and Google. I would like to try using this theme in some of my pieces, it will probably be with collage or a very simplistic style of painting.

This entire pinterest page of abstract art also really helped/inspired me. A lot of my pieces are literal, so if I paint them in an abstract way, they will seem a lot less literal and will be more interesting.

I'm really not a reading person, and there was pretty much NO READING AT ALL on my word, so pictures really helped. I scrolled through this google page for about an hour and every picture helped me brainstorm. Each idea led to another, and somehow all of the pictures started to relate, which was neat.
